Entitlements & permit running
Some projects need planning approval before building permits can be issued. We help organize entitlement applications and run the permit process: coordinating submittals, tracking agency comments, and following up on corrections and resubmittals with your design professionals.

Build is a licensed general contractor, License #1124836. Architectural and engineering services are provided by the appropriate design professionals. Our role is construction, planning support, and coordination with your project team.
Understanding Approvals
What are entitlements?
Entitlements are planning approvals for a proposed use or development of a property. Depending on the location and scope, a project may need a land-use approval, design review, or another planning determination. Other projects can proceed under the applicable zoning standards without a separate discretionary planning approval.
Building permits are a separate step: the building department reviews the construction plans and required clearances. A planning approval alone does not authorize construction.
The required approvals, fees, and review times depend on your property and jurisdiction. We help organize the process with your design team; the reviewing agencies make the approval decisions.
